A Gantt Chart is a timeline that is used as a project management tool to illustrate how the project will run. You can view individual tasks, their durations and the sequencing of these tasks. View the overall timeline of the project and the expected completion date.
A Gantt chart is also a type of bar chart that illustrates a project schedule. This chart lists all of the tasks that needs to be performed on the vertical axis, and time intervals on the horizontal axis. The width of the horizontal bars in the graph show the duration of each activity. Modern Gantt charts also show the relationships between activities. Gantt charts can be used to show current schedule status using percent-complete shadings and a vertical “TODAY” line.
Gantt charts are useful for planning and scheduling projects. They help you assess how long a project should take, determine the resources needed, and plan the order in which you’ll complete tasks. They’re also helpful for managing the dependencies between tasks.
I made sure that all the tasks I need to do have been effectively placed into my chart so I can complete them all and have them in the right order, but most importantly giving my self a realistic set time to complete them so It motivates me more and so I know it can be done and that I should do it.
