Semiotics is the study of symbols, signs and other use of interpretation. I never knew how effective shapes, colours, and words can be when looking for an audience as reaching to a specific audience is critical when trying to be successful. At my college, the Colchester institute in my media and games course, we are learning why and how audiences are the most important part of creating a game and how to make them interested. For example, sharp images or shapes make us feel like the object is dangerous and not friendly however a smooth image will make us feel safer and less on edge, this also applies to colours.

Semiotics would be helpful in my game as I can add sharp images to dangerous things and smooth objects to nicer, calmer, good things.

I can use this to my advantage to make a better and thoughtful game to make it more successful.
